FoRG policy:
The natural environment is under constant threat from development and pollution and the general pressures associated with urban spread. Open and green spaces are appreciated because they are a diminishing precious resource in the urban environment. In this historic Conservation area, there is a continuous contention between the natural and built environments. It is necessary to acknowledge the legitimate interests of the various stakeholder groups and endeavour to sensitively balance and manage those interests in the context of the historic local landscape.
